The Coronavirus Disease 2019 started in December 2019. The virus spreads from person-to-person in which more than 70,000 cases have been confirmed and 2,000 people are killed. Until now, there is no vaccine or specific antiviral treatment. As of 19 February, there are 63 confirmed cases and two death cases in Hong Kong. Meanwhile, this is the eighth month of the anti-extradition law amendment bill movement and the number of protests is observed to be decreasing due to the threat of the virus. However, the responses of the HKSAR government brought discontent to citizens. With the rejection of citizens’ demands against the coronavirus disease, the government chose to de facto lockdown Hong Kong rather than doing so in a comprehensive manner. The government even decided to use newly completed estates for quarantine purpose. The actions of the government made protestors came back to the street to express their demands and discontent towards the government. At the same time, citizens continue to support protestors in prison even though the virus is getting more serious.

It was a rainy day with only 10 degree Celsius, but it cannot stop residents’ anger that the government is unilaterally using their home for quarantine purpose.

Chief Executive Carrie Lam once promised not to use newly completed estates for quarantine purpose but then she broke her words. Residents are dissatisfied to the frequent changes of quarantine policies of the government.
